Custom Prestashop Local Pickup Shipping module for improved customer engagement

For sellers those who have brick and mortar stores apart from the eCommerce websites, the local pickup could be a great option. It saves you from the hassle of delivering the products to customer’s doorstep.

Recently one of the clients approached me with the requirement of adding a Local pickup facility to an existing Prestashop store. I’ve developed a custom Prestashop module which is compatible with 1.5 and higher versions. This module allows customers to select the local pickup as a shipping carrier. The module is easy to install and configure.

On integrating this module, an option of local pickup is added to the shipping carriers. As soon as the user clicks on the local pickup option, the list of the stores is fetched from the database and displayed on the front-end. Customers can select the store as per their convenience.

This type of module is great for businesses who have a store presence too. In fact I would recommend all such eCommerce store owners to immediately get a similar kind of module integrated.
